Memphis Grizzlies meets "Memphis Wrestling"

I've talked about my love for Wrestling. Wrestling great Jerry Lawler is synonymous with Memphis and has shown support for the Grizzlies multiple times with his off-court entertainment. Memphis have also hosted "Wrestling Nights", hosting the legendary Ric Flair and organizing giveaways like Championship Belts. One more reason I love the Grizzlies.
Below are some Grizzlies Graphics that celebrate 'Memphis Wrestling'.

Rd 1 Los Angeles Clippers: Zach Randolph VS Blake Griffin,
Lumberjack Match
Rd 2 Oklahoma City Thunder: OKC's Reggie Jackson does the
People's Elbow on Tony Allen
Rd 3 San Antonio Spurs: Tony Allen sells a Manu Ginobili foul,
gets awarded a Flagrant which sends the game into OT
Update 2014:
Rd 1 Oklahoma City Thunder: Kendrick Perkins does the Earthquake Splash
on Mike Miller on a broken play. No foul called.
Read Chris Herrington's article describing the link between Memphis Wrestling and the identity of Grizzlies Basketball - That's Zach Randolph's music!

'Keep Klay and Curry on' Wallpapers

Look we haven't even played the first game of the Western Conference Finals, But!
I was open about wanting a "Make Believe" Conference Finals between my Grizzlies and Warriors though I do see the value of playing the Spurs instead. If the Grizzlies are to win it all, I want them to beat the strongest field* possible and in storybook fashion the same way the Mavs did.

Avenge their previous two playoff eliminators, the Clippers and Thunder. Prove that 2011 was no fluke by beating the consistent Spurs then upending the Heat juggernaut. That's the coolest way to do it ;)

That said I'm gonna miss the Splash Brothers, Pastor Jackson, David "Psych" Lee, Andrew "No Worries" Bogut, Harrison Barnes and the Rookie Brigade. In short I'm gonna miss the thrill that only the Warriors can provide so really there's only one solution:

*We'll have to beat OKC with Westbrook during our 2014 repeat ;)

Golden State Warriors: We Believe 2007 + Memphis Grizzlies: Believe Memphis 2011

Only 3 teams have upset the top team from 8th seed since the NBA changed to a 7 game format for the 1st round.
- 2007: Golden State Warriors over the Dallas Mavericks in (4-2)
- 2011: Memphis Grizzlies over the San Antonio Spurs in (4-2)
- 2012: Philadelphia 76ers over the Chicago Bulls in (4-2)

Golden State and Memphis have made sequels to these improbable runs this year and are threatening to go deeper.
#Grizznation #Dubnation Don't Stop Believin'
#Grizznation #Dubnation Who do you believe?
Update: '
'Let's play make-believe". The Spurs erased Golden State's dream. Will they do the same to Memphis?

Golden State Warriors: "We are Warriors" to "We are Worried"

Warriors finish off Nuggets in David Lee's surprise return
... Bogut had season bests and career playoff highs of 14 points and 21 rebounds, and Green added a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to power Golden State into the second round for the first time in six years.

Bogut also became the first Warriors player with 20 rebounds in the playoffs since Larry Smith had 23 on May 12, 1987, at the Lakers. "It's very emotional for me because I've had a nightmare of a year," said Bogut, who added four blocks and three assists in an unforgettable performance after rehabilitating his left ankle most of the season...

Green also made a corner 3 in front of Denver's bench, and Klay Thompson hustled for a rebound and a quick putback to put the Warriors up 80-62 with 9:11 to play.

The Nuggets failed to score for nearly six minutes during the stretch. But they rallied with 13 straight, held the Warriors scoreless for almost five minutes and gave the fans in Oakland reason to worry.

After the Warriors went back ahead by nine, they nearly collapsed again. Wilson Chandler stole the rebound from Green for an easy layup to get within four, Iguodala hit another from long range and Kenneth Faried made 1 of 2 free throws to bring Denver within two with 32.4 seconds to play.
Golden State: Andrew Bogut (No Worries)

PSYCH!: David Lee returns for Golden State
After an 8 year journey to the Postseason, Golden State's lone All Star went down in his first ever Playoff game. Thought to be a Season ending injury, David Lee makes a dramatic appearance in a Closeout Game in front of their home faithful at Oracle Arena.
Golden State's David Lee makes shocking appearanceOAKLAND - The Willis Reed references were coming hot and heavy before tipoff between Golden State and Denver at Oracle Arena on Thursday night, as word spread quickly that Warriors forward David Lee was active despite having suffered an injury just 12 days before that was expected to end his season. He entered play for the first time with 2:27 left in the first quarter and Denver leading 23-18.

Memphis Grizzlies GrindHouse Wallpaper

Memphis Grizzlies GrindHouse Wallpaper - NBA Playoffs 2013
This is a marriage of two of my favorite things:
1) The Memphis Grizzlies, my favorite NBA Team
2) Grindhouse, a double feature co-directed by my rolemodel Robert Rodriguez

"The Grindhouse" is the nickname for the Grizzlies' homecourt FedEx Forum. Named to reflect their deliberate interior offense and gritty defense. May 3, 2013 is the date for their Game 6 showdown with rivals The Los Angeles Clippers. They hope to advance to the second round in front of their home audience and avenge the previous year's First Round elimination at the hands of the Clips. #believememphis
